Get ready for pastels and paisley.

As the trees start to bloom, so should you prepare your home for the sunny days to come. Actress and face of Neutrogena, Nomzamo Mbatha recently hosted a luncheon at a private mansion in Parktown, Johannesburg, to showcase the latest spring/summer trends for any household.

Apart from the beautiful northern Johannesburg landscape scenery as you make your way to the main entrance of the house, it was the earthy tones and plays of sorbet colours, juxtaposed on graphic dimensions, which seem to have set the tone.

Outside, at the pool area; a banquet-styled table was set using bold, bright solid colours and textures laid out before us.

The integration of different flowers and fruits drew attention to the theme for the afternoon being spring/summer.

On the upper level of the two-storey house, were the perfectly themed bedrooms, each with a distinct look of its own.

The main bedroom embodied a calm soothing echo, which bounced from the threaded sheet count of the spread, and equally visually enticing was the guestroom, which worked hand in hand with the dimension of light which flowed directly into the room, giving life to the soft pink and blue tones that encompassed the room.

Clearly, the beautiful Mzansi Magic actress had planned to wow her guests and paired up with friends from Boardmans South Africa.

All stops were surely pulled out and the gloves were off.

With our favourite seasons making a return, most of the décor trends centre on colour and textures.
