Minister killed in Bolivia protests

– Bolivia’s deputy interior minister has been killed during protests by striking mine workers, officials said on Thursday.

Interior Minister Carlos Romero confirmed that Rodolfo Illanes was killed in the protests in the east. Romero confirmed reports that the 55-year-old was beaten to death after clashes between police and miners. – DPA
