Better the Clinton devil we know
As the November 8 presidential election in the US draws closer, Americans must, albeit acquiescently, prevent a Donald Trump, pictured, presidency.
It is said that “when America sneezes, the world catches a cold”, but with Trump in the Oval Office, the saying might as well be changed to “when America sneezes, the world falls into a coma”.
Although Trump is a natural entertainer, his campaign performances won’t earn him an Emmy award. Instead, his erratic behaviour could rightly earn him the ire of American voters.
His comments are as divisive as hate speech and as tasteless as a mampara brick.
Many now view Trump as a proponent of racism, which is the older brother of misogyny and the cousin of xenophobia and Islamophobia both.
Trump’s Democrat opponent, Hillary Clinton, is no saint, either. She has skeletons in innumerable closets.
Be that as it may, Clinton lives, eats and breathes politics with years of political experience under her belt, whereas Trump has none. “Better the devil you know than the one you don’t” is highly applicable in this presidential race.
The words “Clinton is a better bet” should ring in voters’ ears from coast to coast and state to state in America come November 8.
