Mourning passing of icon Sfiso
As a member of the ANC in good standing, activist, former ANCYL regional leader and political columnist, I join the millions in mourning the untimely death of Sfiso Ncwane, pictured.
In his own special way, Sfiso attracted thousands of followers, not only from South Africa, but also the continent and other parts of the world, many of whom adopted him as their role-model. His sweet, melodic voice will forever be missed.
I do believe that Sfiso’s life is a significant example of an African spirit and a life that shows a people who are seizing the opportunity to take their rightful place in the world.
I wish to take this opportunity in expressing my heartfelt condolences to the Ncwane family, his friends and colleagues, as well as the entire music industry. Your pain is my pain.
We, as South Africans, can draw strength during this difficult time from the knowledge that many of us share this great loss.
South Africa has lost one of its most talented singers and performers, whose charisma and energy earned him a place in the hearts of many.
We have lost a cultural icon who made a profound contribution to shaping the sound and spirit of his generation.
As we mourn the passing of this young gospel legend we must not forget the best tribute in remembering Sfiso is that those tasked with service delivery do just that.
