Why the need to burn down schools?

-

Last year, we had so many disturbances in our education system with the #FeesMustFall protests and the Vuwani border protests. The burning of buildings and facilities really set us back as a nation.

This especially applies to the pupils and the parents, and everybody who cares about the education of our nation.

It is so shocking that the province of Limpopo is still experiencing the torching of schools madness. This is very unfortunate.

grievances. Burning a school in protest against the state of a road does not make sense.

There are better ways to show our grievances to the leaders of our communities or government.

What do we gain from burning a school or any private or state property?

Limpopo is still reeling from dropping matric results. By torching schools, are we not fuelling more poor results, which will lead to poverty and crime in the province, which will obviously affect the whole country’s economy?

We can’t afford to go through this again, not in this era of negotiations.
