SA a dumping ground for developed countries

There are many reasons why our people don’t prosper, writes

ur beautiful country is regarded as a developing country. Development is measured by positive outcomes that can be directly attributed to a specific project.

When did we start to be a developing country? Is it after we attained political power or long before that, when we were freed from being a colony of Britain?

How do we define development when the majority of people are still trapped in poverty? How can our people develop when the access to decent and quality education is still reserved according to financial affordability?

When tertiary education still excludes many from poor communities? When government education still produces lots of dropouts from poor black communities? When sports and recreational facilities in black townships are ignored and not developed?

How do we develop our nation when our country has become a dumping ground for developed countries?

When they overproduce and can’t consume their products, they decide to offload them in our country at cheap prices.

As a result, our local producers suffer because they can’t compete fairly on the markets. That results in the closing of local businesses and many workers losing their jobs.

Today, Rainbow Chickens will be retrenching many workers and I’m sure Earlybird Farms will follow suit.

The textile industry is dead and buildings that used to be factories in cities like Johannesburg are now havens for criminals because they were left unoccupied.
