Bollymovies coming to DStv

ALL THE INDIAN DRAMA, PASSION AND INTRIGUE

-

English-dubbed, 24-hour Bollywood channel launches next month.

When it comes to passion, conceit, desperate love or bitter betrayal, no one does it quite like Bollywood. Their tales of joy and sorrow intermingled with spectacular dancing, dazzling outfits and precise choreography have been setting screens alight for 117 years.

MultiChoice has now announced that DStv Premium, Extra and Compact customers will soon get to experience the pearl of Asia like never before.

In March Zee Bollymovies (DStv channel 114), a 24-hour, English-dubbed Bollywood-movies-only channel will launch.

Viewers are expected to be treated to epic, award-winning tales of the fragile human condition.

Take Rustom for example. Naval officer Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar) has just found out that his wife Cynthia Pavri (Ileana D’Cruz) has been having an affair with his best friend Vikram Makhija (Arjan Bajwa).

While this particular story dates back to the late 1950s, Rustom was penned by the hugely talented Vipul K Rawal and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

Desai won most promising debut director at the Star Screen Awards in India last year, which speaks to the calibre of movies viewers can expect to see, starting with the undulating saga of Rustom on March 1 at 6pm.

DStv already carries Zee World on channel 166, and its success, along with a growing appetite for all things Bollywood, has led to this launch.
