H“For the longest time I had been apologetic about my work and the vast amount of experience I have both as an actor and musician and this has taken a toll on me,” says Temba as he touches more into what inspired the first encryption to his album.

Having performed on global stages with the cast of The Lion King, Temba is no stranger to fame and hard work.

“I was the very first African Simba on the world stage but I didn’t talk about that.

“On my first album I collaborated with an international producer, Steve Anthony.”

His encounter with the music business in South Africa had begun to leave a bitter taste in his mouth as many of the people who he sought help from or find refuge in, turned out to be the same people who were responsible for dimming his light.

His humility and modesty is part and parcel of him as an artist. “I am the same on and off stage or camera, I am Brian and this is all I can be,” he says – and talks about his plans of a possible tour and live DVD recording. Speaking on the topic of uncensored, the singer grins as he acknowledges that in this, his third album, his lyrical content has taken a turn.

He is more confident to speak about sex and the beauty behind making love to that special person.

“I never used to speak about sex and getting it on. There is a song called Can I and May I on the album and that is the feel I’m leaning towards – mostly influenced by my love for old school ’90s classics by Teddy Pendergrass,” says Temba.

UnABC is not only a collector’s album but is also dedicated to those who seek to find the mystery in love, romance and passion.
