Drifting will again have an official South African title chase this year, running under the SupaDrift banner. The sport, one of the quickest local growing forms of the adrenalin game, will have a six-event national championship, set to run over six months.

To ensure good weather, the series will be contested between the months of April and September.

Run by XS Promotions, the commercial rights holders of the national championship franchise, the SupaDrift Series is the only Drifting championship in the country endorsed by Motorsport South Africa.

This is the fourth year that a national champion will be crowned, with 2016 title holder Shain Gutzeit set to defend his property in a Dezzi Nissan Skyline.
