Gelant to lead team in Kampala

National 5 000m record holder Elroy Gelant will spearhead a five-member South African team in the senior men’s 10km race at the World Cross Country Championships in Kampala, Uganda tomorrow.

The five-member women’s squad will be spearheaded by in-form national champion Kesa Molotsane.

There will also be five SA athletes competing in each of the junior men’s 8km and junior women’s 6km races.

While an 8km mixed relay contest will be held for the first time at the biennial showpiece, the SA squad has not been entered for the race. – Wesley Botton
