EFF weighs in on Phahlane saga

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) yesterday joined calls for acting police commissioner Lieutenant-General Kgomotso Phahlane to be suspended.

“Phahlane is not new to interfering with the ends of justice,” said EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi in a statement yesterday.

“There have been others who were threatened for being involved in Phahlane’s investigation before.

“The Independent Police Investigative Directorate has also accused Phahlane of assembling a team to destabilise the investigation against him.

“Police Minister Fikile Mbalula should know that any other reaction besides suspending Phahlane will be an explicit display of the priorities of the ministry of police: that he is willing to protect the criminal activities of those in positions of power.” – Citizen reporter
