Resplendent Glory for Millard, Schofield

- Clint Hutchinson Hong Kong

– Tony Millard and Chad Schofield have an excellent chance to keep their winning streak alive with Resplendent Glory in the Lancashire Handicap at Happy Valley.

Millard took over the reins for his galloper in early March and within six weeks of the move had produced a stylish win.

It was a good time clocked by Resplendent Glory as well, virtually the same as that clocked by Arm Runda at the same meeting, except that galloper was competing in a grade higher. There should be nice improvement to come from that outing, and from gate four Schofield will more than likely enjoy an economical run once again.

What will help the cause of Resplendent Glory is there appears to be good speed in this event with the likes of Lyric Ace and Hot Hot Pepper.

One of the main threats is Master Steed, who has been gradually building toward another win.

The switch back to Happy Valley means he has struck a slightly weaker contest .

And last start winner Fine With Me has to be given some respect. He swopped from back in the field when not fancied in the market, but worked home strongly and given that was his first attempt over the course and distance he warrants respect.

David Ferraris' Confucius Spirit finished fourth to Fine With Me and based on that effort he too should be kept safe.

In the fifth event, The Norfolk Handicap, Tony Cruz's Contribution looks another sound chance to land back-to-back wins.

It took the son of Street Cry nine races to shrug his maiden status, but did it in fine style and the key was the step up to1600m.

Dougie Whyte can win the final event on the card with Healthy Luck, who has only been out of the top two spot in one of his five Hong Kong starts. He sticks to 1200m at the city course and remains quite well treated in the handicap following his victory a month ago. One of the main Swinger picks will be Young Empire who is bidding for a hat-trick of wins. He has drawn poorly and might have to work a bit from the outside gate, but with a light weight he might still take some running down.
