400-KM ENDURANCE RACE WILL TEST DRIVERS OVER THREE HOURS Killarney in the Western Cape will be the scene of action this Saturday.
The Mopar South African Endurance Championship will return to Killarney in the Western Cape this Saturday. The day-night Campos Cape 400 race will start at 5.30pm, sharing the circuit with a full regular Killarney Power Tour regional meeting.
The 400-km endurance race should take around three hours to complete, which means it will mostly be run in the dark.
Topping the entry list will be the Turn1 Insurance Shelby-Ford V8 of Rui, Jason and Keegan Campos, fresh from breaking the outright Kyalami lap record a few weeks back.
Challenging them for the overall victory should be Francis Carruthers/ Johan Engelbrecht (Aquila-Corvette), Franco/ Silvio Scribante (Chevron B26 V8), Michael Jensen/ Mark Lauth (Renault FR1), Colin Plit/ Nick Adcock (Tricera Juno-Honda SS3), Fritz Kleynhans/ James Forbes (Comenius Ligier JS49-Honda) and Mike Verrier/ Wayne Jardin (AidCall247 Shelby-Nissan V6).
Topping the GT category will be Charl/ Harry Arangies (Stradale Ferrari 360), Jaki Scheckter/ Greg Parton (Drizit Lamborghini Huracan), Simon Murray/ Gavin Cronje (Lamborghini Gallardo) and Dave Alhadeff/ Chris Carolin/ Martin Bensch (PP Racing Panoz Esperante).
