Retire Oom Paul to a wine farm

-

Reading The Citizen last week I notice: Oom Paul Must Fall. Everytime we have nothing to do or say, we find that we have to blame something or someone else. The removal of the Rhodes statue was a clear case of needing to blame someone because we, as humans, can’t sort out our own mess.

Coming back to Oom Paul, I want to agree this time. If you look at his face, one can clearly see the man is tired of all the strikes, paint jobs, looting, and toyi-toyi in and around that area.

I think the time has come for him to go on pension. And most pensioners end up living at the sea. If you remove the sting from a wasp, it becomes just another plain insect with no danger to mankind. So why don’t we find a place for Oom Paul at one of the many wine farms down in the Western Cape where overseas tourists flock every year.

This offers him the opportunity of having to look out over the sea for the rest of his life. After all, he loves the tourist attraction and it might just put a smile on his face.

By doing this we have taken the sting out: no more paint jobs, looting and strikes in that area.

The most important thing is, it was controlled by us.

The day will come when another party will rule and they too will start removing statues put up by the previous governments, only because it reminds them of looting money, Guptas, Eskom, perjury, crime, Zuma, etc.
