Millionaires are acting like babies

-

The kings’ sporting game, horse racing, has mostly millionaires and multi-millionaires behind the scenes by way of breeders, owners, trainers, board members, stipendiary stewards, book makers, television moguls, auctioneers and race-callers ...

However, the game is dependent on the punter, who is the sole money provider of the game, just like the taxpayer is the sole provider of any country’s fiscus.

The sole object is to provide the “backers” all with payouts.

The recent trend is having two commentators calling on racing in Mauritius – Shan Ip or Smiley Moosa, who fell out of favour with the powers that be – as well as in Eastern Cape, to do duty with whoever is on duty instead of on-course man Alan Schoeman and, for example, the on-duty presenter.

Then we also have the flyingup-and-down father and son (Craig and Sheldon Peters), and on-course presenters from all over the show.

Goodness gracious, keep the locals local and cutting out all this unnecessary expense could put more money in the punters’ pockets.

But no! The millionaires are behaving like babies.
