In SA it’s the blind leading the blind

-

The year of Oliver Reginald Tambo should be the year of going back to basics for the ANC leadership. The current iniquitous regime must remember the events that led to the formation of the ANC in 1912.

The ANC of John Dube championed the interests of the black African majority that suffered injustice under a system that dehumanised black Africans.

Today’s leadership fails to address the social, economic and gender inequalities that face the previously disadvantaged.

A once great revolutionary organisation that fathers the Freedom Charter and mothers the National Democratic Revolution policy has partaken in politics of personalities and patronage.

South Africa faces a leadership problem where we find the blind leading the blind. We have weak, fetid and constitutionally delinquent leaders.

Through the eye of the needle the radical economic transformation programme needs leaders that prop up socialism in a mixed economy.

Not on my watch shall I be led by leaders who lack qualities of governance, which is deficient in the current think tanks.

We find a country that is on auto pilot, with constant reports about the killings of the women in our communities.

Who will the masses trust with the mandate of introducing a non-racial, non-sexist democratic society for a better Azania for all?

Thapelo Molefe,

Protea North
