A vote of confidence for Nathan Mayer

- London MAKE MAGIC WITH MORRICE

– In a week when the population is banking on the best result for the United Kingdom in the General Election, NATHAN MAYER would be a topical and appropriate winner of the 32Red.com Handicap at Kempton tonight.

The Nathaniel gelding bears the name of a German ancestor of his owner Sir Evelyn De Rothschild who at one time was the wealthiest man on earth.

Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, and with Ryan Moore donning silks that are among the most famous in British racing, Nathan Mayer can give us our own payout by showing his appreciation of a step up the distance ladder and a move on to the Polytrack surface on which he has trained so pleasingly at Newmarket.

Although showing little in his first three outings, the selection left previous form behind when moving into the handicap band and was good value for his, albeit narrow, triumph at Nottingham.

He comes from a family who progresses with experience and for top connections will be hard to beat.

Hamilton punters should dive in early for the best bets on the card are in Races 1 and 2.

MISS BAR BEACH carries the nap vote for Keith Dalgleish in the BB Foodservice Novice Auction Stakes and takes by far the best form to the table after her promising first effort to chase home the useful Emilia James at Beverley.

The way she finished off up the final hill indicates she will appreciate a step up to 1200m here.

DON VALENTINO offers value and should be backed to come good in the Neilsland And Earnock Julian Watson Memorial Maiden Stakes.

David O’Meara’s gelding produced his best run when third to Black Salt and can improve further with Danny Tudhope.
