Parow vs Van Coke
Jack Parow and Fokofpolisiekar have combined forces with Warner Bros. Games, Ster Kinekor Entertainment and tournament operators ACGL to present a knock out event unlike no other ever experienced in South Africa. This event will take place at Weiveld in Pretoria on July 8 and will bring together gaming and live music to deliver an evening of supreme entertainment.
On the night, there will be loads of Injustice, two giveaways, a dedicated gaming area (for punters to have a go at battling it out); Rob Forbes from 5FM will MC, DJ Waynalicious will keep the music pumping and, of course, Jack Parow and Fokofpolisiekar will deliver their legendary explosive live performances to top off the night.
Not only will the top e-sports players battle it out for their share of R60 000 at the official Injustice at South African Championship Series grand final, but Jack Parow and Francois van Coke, above, will take each other on as well.
Expect alliances (and friendships) to be shattered as competitors will be battling for their share of cash, gaming products and a coveted slot in the VS Fighting tournament in Birmingham this August. This all-expenses trip will see South Africa’s finest fighter battling others from around the world for their share of the $20 000 (R256 000) up for grabs.
South African entrants will be able to participate in a variety of online qualifying tournaments, where XP will be awarded towards their leaderboard position.
The top four, after the June 25 online playoffs, will then head to the grand finale in Gauteng on July 8 where the champion will be decided at a spectacular finale event that will feature performances from Jack Parow and Fokofpolisiekar!
The tournament is only open to citizens or permanent residents of the Republic of South Africa who will be 18 years or older on May 19, 2017 and are in possession of a valid passport.
If you’re more of a muso Fokofpolisiekar frontman Francois van Coke’s talent, work ethic and charisma has been an inspiration to upcoming musicians for years. Now Francois and Red Bull Studios have created a unique opportunity for a solo artist or band to collaborate with him and experience first-hand how he goes about making unforgettable music.
Francois and Red Bull Studios are giving an upcoming band or solo artist the chance to submit a track that Francois will rework, produce, record and perform on with the winner(s) at the Red Bull Studios Cape Town. The track will be released through Red Bull Studio’s channels.
Bands or solo artists can submit an original composition by uploading either a SoundCloud or YouTube demo recording. The next step would be to either Tweet the link to the demo at Red Bull Studios or post it to their Facebook page.
The submission should include the name of the band or project, the name of the song and the hashtags #RedBullStudios #VanCokeColab.
Both Francois van Coke and the Red Bull Studios team will consider all entries and pick the winner.
The competition runs until July 3 and the winner will be announced on July 19. – Citizen reporter
