Choose a kaftan of luxury brand

SACRED: KIMONOS ALSO MADE FROM SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS Training sessions open for starting your own business.

-

Sacred is a luxury brand, designed by Nina Mclamb of Sweden and ethically made in South Africa. The brand has a variety of kaftans and kimonos. The majority are made using solely sustainable materials such as vintage silks, crepe and chiffon. Each piece of the range is a one-ofa-kind, unique garment.

The brand’s philosophy is to create permanent collections that can be worn in different ways and can be dressed both up and down. In short, a modest, feminine, global luxury brand based on the concept of slow, sustainable and ethical fashion that produces timeless designs for all women.

The label collaborates with an organisation and NPO in South Africa called Meaningful Change, with Sari For Change as the fashion house and production unit.

Sari For Change aims to bridge the gap in unemployment by providing training and entrepreneurship skills to build sustainable businesses.

Based in Northriding, Johannesburg, they employ six seamstresses and has training sessions open to women who wants to start their own businesses.

They concentrate on training and teaching, retailing and coaching and mentoring of start-ups.

This goes a long way in a hand holding exercise supported by a network of women who have the experience in the business of fashion.

The model has various training components in the production, the entrepreneurial training and the coaching and mentoring of start ups in the industry.

They call it the sacred economy, supporting women with a vision shared in creating and innovating in South Africa through design and sustainable fabrics and resources to allow for women from other parts of the world to similarly find a space in the retail global market.

That is how they aim to add value to the South African narrative and economy.
