Farmer killed, mom assaulted

Three armed men allegedly shot dead a 46-yearold farmer on a farm near Lichtenburg on Friday, North West police have said.

The assailants allegedly accosted the farmer outside his farmhouse with a firearm, then tied him and his 75-year-old mother up inside the house.

It is alleged that the perpetrators then shot the son in the head and fled with a car.

The mother called for help. A farm worker came to untie her and called the police. – ANA
