Hollywood’s middle man
RATED AMONG BEST MEDIUMS OF HIS GENERATION, HE READS FOR THE STARS ‘It all started with a premonition of my grandmother’s death and I have not looked back since.’
Bridging the gap between the living and the dead, Tyler Henry has found himself the topic of conversation in and around the streets of Beverly Hills – and at just 21 he is rated among the best mediums and clairvoyants of his generation.
Having done consultations with some of Hollywood’s most famous celebrities seeking closure and solace after losing loved ones, Henry has built a trusted reputation for himself.
He grew up in a small religiously conservative town in the US where his gift was revealed to him when he was 10 years old: he had a premonition of his grandmother’s death. “Before I even got the chance to walk out of the house after having told my mother, the phone rang. All I had seen had happened.”
After coming to terms with his gift, Henry spent time between the ages of 10 and 16 learning and developing his new-found ability and, as fate would have it, word got out. More and more people in and around his community would call him. At first the reception was rather hostile and he would have prayer meetings dedicated to him by members of the community, but this changed as people started to learn more about Henry’s emerging talent. Being an only child, the gifted seer tells of the support of his family and parents – especially his mother, who drives Henry to his readings. “I am so lucky to say that my mother is my best friend, and even though I find myself in a rather interesting situation, she really reminds me of home,” says Henry. Last year, Henry’s talents saw him land his own reality show on E! Entertainment channel, which documents his life as a clairvoyant and medium. Through the show, Henry has managed to connect celebrities to their lost loved ones. In only two seasons of the reality show, he has found himself sitting face-to-face with Academy Award-winning actors, deemed to be among Hollywood royalty.
However, the twist to the show is that he has no clue who he will be doing a reading for, as he knows little of the world of stardom.
He is driven to his appointments where he sits down and allows his body and mind to be used by eager souls who want to either make amends with their family who are still living, or just reassure them that all is well with them.
In the second season of the show, viewers get to witness his reading for Bobby Brown, hus- band of award-winning artist Whitney Houston, who comes through to deliver the truth about her controversial death back in 2014, and that of their daughter, Bobby Christina.
Later in the season, Henry sits with award-winning female rapper Lil Kim, who asks him to find out who actually shot her lover, the iconic ’90s hip-hop star Biggie-Smalls (Christopher Wallace), who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996.
