SA correct to let Al-Bashir go

It seems the Internatio­nal Criminal Court (ICC) has a problem when it comes to this continent. The ANC has made so many mistakes up to this point, but letting Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir, pictured, go was the best and most wise decision they ever took.

The ICC must understand that South Africa is a full member of African Union (AU). Being a member of the ICC will never make South Africa put it before the AU.

Most of Africa’s civil wars are caused by organisati­ons like the ICC and United Nations. If they want Al-Bashir so badly, why don’t they go to Sudan and arrest him?

If South Africa had arrested him, that would have been a betrayal to the whole continent and African countries would turn against South Africa.

I think the AU needs to advise their members about the consequenc­es of joining these European-controlled organisati­ons because some of their decisions

may divide Africa. George Bush killed people in Iraq but he wasn’t charged. And only African leaders are being pursued.
