Living loud at Sun City

ACTION-PACKED: THRILLS GALORE FOR VISITORS SEEKING ADRENALIN RUSH Experience something different at 5FM Live Loud Mid Year Break.

-

Sun City boasts a supercharged line-up of action-packed entertainment and activities during the holidays, with extreme sports activities including drifting, wakeboarding, trial bikes and free fall bag jumps.

The extreme sports activities will be staged during the 5FM LiveLoud MidYear Break, starting tomorrow and ending on Sunday, by XS Promotions – who organise the popular national SupaDrift Series.

Wakeboarders have been itching to take on the big waves at the Valley of Waves at Sun City. Now, the best in South Africa are going to ride the iconic water park’s gigantic waves, performing insane tricks and manoeuvres.

Multiple SA champion Justin Selby and Ryde Jones will lead the pack of wakeboarders.

According to XS Promotions’ Mikey Skelton, South Africa’s top trial bikers, Bruce and Brent le Rich, will also perform awe-inspiring stunts over the weekend.

The Le Riche brothers are skilled riders who have been thrilling crowds in South Africa and internationally since 2008.

With over 17 years’ worth of trials riding and international training experience under their belts, brothers Bruce and Brent are able to perform tricks that few other riders dare attempt.

In addition to adrenalinpumping wakeboarding and bike stunts, spectators will also be treated to a showcase by some of South Africa’s pro drift drivers.

Drifting is believed to be the fastest-growing motorsport globally and has much of its roots in rallying.

It is the art of steering a rearwheel drive car sideways through corners. The action at Sun City will be similar to the drifting stunts seen on movie Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

XS Drift will be bringing their V8 6- litre Chex Luminas to give guests the opportunity to jump into the cars and drift.

Drifting will take place in the parking area outside the Gary Player Country Club. The spectacle is free to watch and costs just R150 per person to enjoy the experience.

In the free fall bag jumps, participants can twist, flip, spin and fall from a height of up to 30 feet to land on a giant air pillow.

To participate in a free fall bag jump, visitors simply have to have guts and R50 for a ticket.

The 5FM Live Loud fun and festivities include a beach party featuring top DJs under African skies at the Valley of Waves from 6am tomorrow and Live Loud at the Superbowl Concert at the Superbowl on Saturday.

Tickets for each of the events, as well as weekend passes, are available at Computicket.
