DJ Fresh is ready to party at Carnival

House music fans can look forward to a superlativ­e treat at Carnival City this month.

Popular 5FM jock DJ Fresh will be hitting the decks at Bru’s for two super-charged parties on Tuesday and again on August 26.

He will perform a dynamic mix of house, kwaito, progressiv­e house and commercial music as only DJ Fresh knows how. DJ Fresh, real name Thato Sikwane, is one of South Africa’s most sought-after mix masters.

He is credited with pioneering the house music scourge which is engulfing Southern Africa. His first four house albums – the Fresh House Flava series – are touted to have altered the house music landscape in SA for good, bringing the genre into the mainstream music scene.

DJ Fresh boasts a diversity of talents that have seen him making major waves in the SA entertainm­ent industry for more than 30 years. He is a sought-after television personalit­y, popular social media sensation, and prolific radio and internatio­nal club DJ.

During his career, he has shared the DJ booth with some of the world’s most famous DJs, including Frankie Knuckles, Paul van Dyk, Oskido, Fat Boy Slim, Ready D, Chris Lake and Armand van Helden.

People on dance floors in cities such as Miami, London, Moscow, Ibiza, Brisbane, Melbourne, Birmingham, Dubai and Montreal have danced to Fresh’s beats.

DJ Fresh & Levis will hit the decks at Bru’s from 8pm on both nights till late.
