Democracy means all have a right to protest
How can the liberals deny the US ‘white nationalists’ the right to protest, asks from Germiston.
John
Ademocracy, as I understand it, allows any group the right to hold a rally and express its views. The “white nationalists” in Virginia in the US hold a rally that is blatantly obstructed by the liberal left, counter-protesters, deliberately depriving the “white nationalists” of their rights – and violence ensues.
The “white nationalists” are immediately blamed for the violence. How come? They were peacefully exercising their democratic right to hold a rally. What right does the liberal left have to deny them these rights?
President Donald Trump is then blasted – as usual by CNN and other anti-Trumpers – for his response in blaming both sides and for not labelling the “white nationalists” as the perpetrators.
Everybody knew it was a nationalist rally. If the liberal left had not intervened then there would have been no problems. Why is the left always deemed right? What am I missing here? If it was the other way around, the nationalists would still be blamed for the violence.
As for the statement that there is “universal condemnation for the ensuing violence by the ‘white nationalists’”, I can only say “baloney”. I doubt if Africa, Russia, Japan, or a host of other countries are in the least bit concerned about the free-for-all. Pure sensationalism. They have their own problems to worry about.
