No wonder JZ foundation is broke

-

The Sunday Times, reported that the Jacob G Zuma Foundation has run out of money and cannot pay for the bursaries of 30 students. Chairperson Dudu Myeni, pictured, in her usually conceited manner, said: “You are aware that President Zuma does not benefit from conglomerates owned by white monopoly capital. We receive donations, like other NGOs.”

This is correct and while the Gupta family doubtless was a benefactor, there would have been no need for others to contribute.

Regrettably, those students left in the lurch will now have to make alternative arrangements.

Besides having wreaked an economic catastrophe at SAA, it was always probable that any institution run by Myeni would crumble.

Presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga said: “Obtaining funds from donors has never been easy.” How discerning of the Presidency.

With government and the ANC marauding the state coffers, it’s understandable that potential donors would hold off on their plans to assist.

What never ceases to amaze, is the propensity and readiness of government to loot, rather than promote education for the people.

In the meantime, Zuma and Myeni will continue to smile disdainfully for the media cameras.
