‘We’re geared for business’
Tshwane executive mayor Solly Msimanga, pictured, says the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality has maintained its position as the fastest growing metro for the past 20 years.
“This is a demonstration of our commitment to making Tshwane a prosperous hub of opportunity, safety and sustainability.”
He said according to the average annual growth rate (adjusted for inflation), as determined by IHS Global Insight, Tshwane surpassed other metros at 3.9%.
“This is also considerably well above the national growth rate. This in comparison to the City of Cape Town 3%; eThekwini 3.3%; Ekurhuleni 2.3%; City of Joburg 3.7%; Nelson Mandela Bay 2.3%; Mangaung 3.6%; Buffalo City 2.1%.
“Under the DA-led multiparty administration, the city is committed to developing an economic future that is prosperous and inclusive. To successfully realise this goal requires a strategic approach that identifies the very best growth opportunities.
“To do this, we have put in place a budget that is financially viable and that speaks directly to our IDP [Integrated Development Plan]. Our budget is fully funded and balanced and is confirmation that we have heard the people of Tshwane and we are putting our money where our mouth is.
“By working with captains of industry and assisting businesses to realise their true growth potential, this administration of Tshwane is fully geared towards positioning the city as the preferred destination for trade and investment,” he said.
“We remain committed to investing heavily in economic infrastructure to provide a competitive business environment and ensure uninterrupted supply of municipal services.” – Citizen reporter
