Radio host races in Sun City 400

AIRWAVES’ CAR FANATIC WILL NAVIGATE FOR FORMER SA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMP Go and watch – entry to spectator points at popular resort is free of charge.

Jacob Moshokoa, the news anchor on 947 Breakfast Express, will navigate for former South African champion Terence Marsh in a Red-Lined Nissan Navara on the Sun City 400, the penultimate round of this year’s South African Cross Country Series, on September 15 and 16.

A helpless car fanatic, Jacob also co-hosts the weekly 702 AdFeature video series and relishes the opportunity to review the latest on wheels in South Africa.

He studied radio production before moving to television with SABC Channel Africa and Soweto TV, then returning to radio at EWN.

Jacob will return to the scene where the celebrity navigator programme started in 2012, with Proteas fast bowler Fanie de Villiers doing duty at that year’s Sun City 400.

Since then a string of sports stars, entertainers and entrepreneurs have competed in the national cross country series – with some of them coming back for a second dose of adrenaline.

“It is one of the most successful and popular promotions we have ever done,” said Marsh.

“Without exception the celebrities said it is one of the most exciting and satisfying experiences of their lives, and they have done a magnificent job of taking our sport to a wider audience.

“I am sure Jacob is going to revel in the competitive nature of cross country and at the same time will be bowled over by the friendly and family atmosphere that is part and parcel of our sport.”

Race headquarters, the start/ finish and the designate service park will all be located at the Sun City resort. Public entry to these areas and spectator points along the route will be free of charge. – Off Road Correspondent
