What is wrong with our teachers?

Teachers should protect the future leaders – but now are the perpetrators, writes

he allegation of a school principal and his fellow teachers gang-raping a scholar in KwaZulu-Natal is disgusting and shocking. It really shows high levels of irresponsibility from some of our teachers.

It rings alarm bells to say the least.

Our schools are supposed to be a safe place for our kids. Our teachers – being elders and parents – should continue with their teaching and parenting roles at school.

They should be protecting the future leaders – but now they are the perpetrators. You have to ask yourself if all is fine within our schools and the education department.

Teachers who are found guilty of this kind of misconduct must face jail time. They destroy the future of these kids.

And those teachers who are found guilty of sleeping with and impregnating school kids need to be brought to book too.

As teachers they should know better and start acting responsibly. Parents send children to school to learn, not to become the girlfriends of their teachers.

There are even teachers who are found guilty of assaulting school kids. Teachers, corporal punishment has been abolished from our schools. You cannot bring it back illegally.

You are breaking the law and you’ll be punished.

Stop it.
