SA’s heading for African tragedy
The comments by political analyst Sipho Seepe in Tuesday’s paper on the deeply divided ranks within the ANC, suggests the possibility of the ruling party disintegrating, but which remnant will claim to be the authentic soul of a once-great liberation movement?
The party declined under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma, whose poor character allowed the Gupta family unprecedented influence within government. It cost the fiscus billions in wasted revenue, denying the country’s citizens the entitlement to an improved life.
Cyril Ramaphosa, pictured, can possibly salvage what little integrity the party still possesses, but if the Zuma faction emerge dominant the ANC’s end is guaranteed.
