Bucs coach bemoans ‘critical situations’

Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic (right) says playing against Maritzburg United away from home was difficult after the home side held them to a goalless draw at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw the sides tied on eight points after four league matches having came into this game level on seven points.

The Bucs coach thought they could have won, but was left stunned when Ntsikelelo Nyauza’s goal was ruled out for an earlier foul in the 53rd minute and Thabo Qalinge was brought down inside the box with the referee waving play on.

“We played against a very good team in a very tough place to come to. It was a tough match from the beginning playing against a team that is very physically fit.”

“We had problems in the first 15 minutes, but after that we came into the game,” he said.

“There are two critical situations and I have been asking myself what had happened when Qalinge went down and why the goal was disallowed.

“But we won’t look at that aspect, we are in the process of building, so I’m very satisfied with our defending aspect. We need to be much better and faster in the whole circulation of our buildups.”

Ahead of their clash with Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium tomorrow. Micho added that his side are still a work in progress, with his main concern now being clinical in front of goal.
