Pretoria’s Sun Arena launches in style

-

Sun International, one of the largest hospitality, leisure and gaming groups in Africa, is set to launch Tshwane’s first 8 500seat indoor area.

Opening in November, the Sun Arena marks a new era in entertainment for the area. The only venue of its kind in Pretoria, the state-of-the-art Sun Arena provides an unprecedented platform for staging grand-scale international and local acts.

Delivering on its promise to bring some of the most celebrated local and international artists to the city, Time Square has a spectacular line-up to hail the opening of Sun Arena, including Bryan Adams, Brian McKnight and Brandy and the wildly popular Afrikaans is Groot series.

The official grand opening production, Unison, on November 4, is a dedicated authentic SA entertainment to celebrate the diversity and depth of talent that exists in the country.

“Time Square shares Sun International’s commitment to supporting the local music and performing arts industry and will provide a platform for local artists and bands to showcase their talents,” says Brett Hoppé, general manager: Time Square.

"In this spirit and testament to its passion for South Africa, its diverse people, rich tapestry of cultures, and to honour the exceptional calibre of South African talent, Time Square is dedicating the official opening production, Unison, to authentic South African entertainment

The celebration concert will be staged courtesy of Time Square SA and will not be for profit. Only 8 500 tickets are available and will be allocated to enthusiastic media partners who will share them with their audiences; people who share the same passion for local music and entertainment.

“We wanted to do things a little differently and give back to the music-loving people of South Africa. At a time when the country is plagued by bad news and upheaval, we wanted to generate some hope and nurture a sense of community and celebrate South Africa in unison,” said Hoppé.
