The Bellas have to come to terms with no longer being flavour of the year as life after college isn’t plain sailing in Pitch Perfect 3. Beca (played by award-winning actress Anna Kendrick) followed her passion to become a producer, a job which she is forced to walk away from, putting her in the same unemployed box as her best friend, flatmate “Fat Amy” (Australian comedienne Rebel Wilson).

The pair find themselves sharing a bachelor apartment with nothing else but their college memories to keep them going.

Reuniting with their a cappella singing group sisters, the pair embark on a quest to reignite the burning desire to perform on stage for a crowd, which then leads former Bellas lead singer Aubrey (played by Anna Camp) to convince her father to get them into a military music festival competition which includes a recording deal with Grammy award-winning producer DJ Khaled.

Determined to bring the spark back into their lives, the group reforms and sets out on their venture. However, the quest – much like their adult lives – isn’t as easy as expected as they bang heads with another female band, led by supermodel and actress Ruby Rose.

They, too, are after the prize and have prepared a rocking performance, making the competition a lot harder than expected.

Unlike the other two films, the third takes a closer look into the lives of the two best friends, even revealing a secret which Amy has tried to hide from the girls.

intact in the third offering, fans of the franchise will find themselves moving to the harmonic voices of the Bellas.

And if the music isn’t what you are after, the humorous nature in which sexual innuendo from Fat Amy or socially awkward mumbles from Chloe (played by Brittany Snow) will definitely keep you in giggles.

In general, the film makes for a light and pleasurable watch, allowing the viewer to let loose from the strains of the year and simply find humour in witnessing the return of the “pitches” to the stage.
