If ever the time was ripe for Makhosi Khoza to get into gear with her new party it is now. The ANC as a political force is split asunder, no matter what Cyril Ramaphosa pulls out of the hat from now until the election next year. And sadly, the DA is no better off with the ridiculous in-fighting taking place around mayor Patricia de Lille and the poor handling of the water crisis.

But it is important for her to get her ducks in a row with immediate effect. She must seize the moment and run with it.
