Baroka FC midfielder Letladi Madubanya (right) says the club are looking at ending the season on a positive note after their good start this season took a nosedive.

The Limpopo side were at some point leading the pack in the Premiership, but they now find themselves seventh with 28 points after just 22 matches.

“We really had a great start with results going our way. But things then started to go wrong and we started dropping points,” said Madubanya.

“But the league is not over yet, we are still going to grind out results and make a point of finishing well. A top eight finish would be really great for us.”

Bakgaga host Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium today. City are one place above Baroka in the league. The Cape side are on 31 points after the same number of games.

Madubanya knows it won’t be easy to get the three points, but says they will fight hard for a win.

“It won’t be easy, they are a quality side with a lot of experienced players in their squad. It will be a tough match for us, but we also won’t make it easy for them. We have a good squad and a technical team that works very hard with us so we are always ready for the games,” he added.

Baroka head into this game after drawing 1-1 with neighbours Polokwane City in the Limpopo derby this past weekend, while City lost 2-1 to a resurgent Bidvest Wits at the Athlone Stadium.
