Man who heals with his mind

FOCUSES ON INJURY BRIEFLY AND 70%-80% OF PEOPLE ARE PERMANENTLY CURED

It happens in 30 to 60 seconds.

In the new series, The

Healer, the cameras follow Charlie Goldsmith who possesses a healing gift that has stunned the world.

The TLC series covers the moments when he heals people from all walks of life who have previously sought medical treatment with no success. Goldsmith has surprised scientists with his method of healing with his mind. Goldsmith sat down to talk about the show and his curious power.

From what age were you able to heal people with your mind?

I discovered it when I was 18 years old. I woke up one day and started feeling energy between my hands. That was the first thing. Then I accidentally healed someone that day.

I sat down for breakfast at the health retreat where I was staying and my knife and fork, which were in my hand, pulled together, which felt quite forced.

As I pulled them apart, I could feel this very tangible magnetism between my hands.

At the time, I thought there was something wrong with me. I thought that I was sick or that something was wrong with my head, because I could feel this thing that I couldn’t see.

I didn’t know it could heal people, but there was something weird going on.

Then after that, someone else came up to feel this phenomena coming out of my hand.

I didn’t know there was something wrong with their hand, and I basically accidentally healed their hand. So that was how I discovered it.

How does the healing work? Do you do it with your thoughts only, or do you have to touch people where they are hurting?

I don’t need to touch them physically, so I do it, I guess, with my mind.

I sometimes use my hands, but I don’t touch people. But really, it’s done with my head, so I can actually see it.

You’ll see in the show that I actually don’t even move.

I just stay still and close my eyes and work on people.

So I guess it really is all from the mind. But certainly I don’t need to touch people.

What happens during a healing meeting?

It’s very quick. Someone will tell me what’s wrong with them. So they might say, ‘I have a bad knee or I have an infection’ or whatever, and once I know what the problem is and where it is, that’s all I need to know.

And I close my eyes for 30 to 60 seconds. Then I’ll stop and I’ll ask the person how that condition, whatever it was, is feeling now.

Usually I have a way to measure it. So if they had a bad knee, I’ll get them to do something that they couldn’t do before seeing me, like a squat, to test that what I have done has helped.

But it all happens very, very quickly, and I don’t need to know a lot. I pretty much just need to know the area of the problem and the type of problem, and

then I do my work.

People are sceptical of your gi . How do you deal with that?

Well, you get used to it after a while. There’s two ways I deal with it. One is that I just accept that some people are understandably going to be sceptical, and there’s not much I can do about that sometimes. But mostly, I spend my time showing people. So for me, the way I deal with it is by showing people and then just accepting that some people won’t even want to look and they’re going to be sceptical and that’s okay, I just have to accept it.

Can you tell us about a case you couldn’t help, and why?

I could tell you about lots of times I couldn’t help people.

I don’t know why, because it’s not lack of effort when I can’t help someone. It seems to be two, maybe three cases in 10 that I just, for some reason, can’t help.

One problem that I’ve noticed that I can’t help with consistently is tinnitus, which is ringing in the ears.

That’s been a consistent one that I’ve been asked to do a lot fairly recently and I haven’t been able to help anyone with that condition.

But I guess the answer to why is, for me at least, you can’t fix everything.

So I guess that sometimes I’m just not meant to be able to help or it’s beyond my ability or I’m not the right practitioner or person for that particular job.

Are these people really healed for a long time?

For example, just about everyone who was on the show is still doing better. It’s been seven months now. When I fix people, they are fixed.

Sometimes I will have an effect where I’ll work on someone and it will be good for a short period, but it won’t last.

But about 70 to 80% of the time I fix people permanently.

Can you also heal yourself if you’re sick?

I get sick very rarely, but no, I can’t really. If I do happen to get
