Werder Bremen will hope to strengthen their hopes of avoiding relegation tonight when they host bottom-ofthe-table FC Cologne in a Bundesliga battle.

Cologne already look doomed to the drop, a dreadful start to the season seeing them fail to win a Bundesliga match until mid-December. They have picked up slightly in 2018, with three league wins already this year, but it is looking like too little, too late.

Bremen won home games last month against relegation rivals Wolfsburg and Hamburg, and I expect them to notch up another three points here, deepening Cologne’s misery.
