No consequences for badly behaved pupils

The younger generation have become an unruly mob, writes of Montana Park.

was shocked to the core when listening to a male ex-teacher on radio the other morning. His reasons for leaving the profession which he loved so dearly was due to the lack of discipline in our schools.

He claims teachers no longer have any rights, they all are on the side of the pupils.

One day after school, he went on a walkabout and heard noises from an empty classroom. When entering, he found two Grade 9 pupils having sex. When he approached them, they candidly told him if you do not want to join us, get out so that we can finish.

He called the parents of the boy and the mother told him it is her child’s right to have sex with anyone he pleases, as long as it is consensual.

On another occasion a pupil threw a text book at a teacher in rage but as a teacher, her hands were tied. Since this government has banned corporal punishment in schools, the younger generation have become an unruly mob, believing that they can do just what they please. This is the reason we have so much unrest in our colleges and universities. It also leads to the destruction of property and an enormous cost to the country.

School pregnancies and violence have risen astronomically over the years. What does our education department do? Talk, talk and more talk, and then they lay the blame squarely at the feet of the parents.
