Get tough with sexual predators

-

Along with many South Africans, I am appalled at the abuse of 80-plus schoolchildren by a security guard and the alleged further abuse of another two by a cop appointed to investigate the crime.

While I accept that because criminals have rights, and we cannot execute these monsters, it is time to get tough on sexual predators.

We, as citizens, should insist on polygraphs for criminals and victims – and even hypnosis to get to the truth. A criminal’s rights should never allow them to escape justice, as this leads to further abuse by the perpetrator and their rights supersede the future victim’s rights.

Any human rights lawyer is just plain evil if they argue against this. If put to a referendum, I have no doubt that the majority of people would vote for much tougher sentences for those found guilty.

Offenders reoffend and should get life in prison with no parole. Rapists never change their behaviour, it is an addiction to them.

The damage that this causes in the child’s life is immeasurable. That child will often go on to abuse children later on in life. Even the Bible describes God’s anger, particularly at this disgusting crime. Enough is enough! Let the voter decide, not some faceless human rights lawyer. Parktown
