The only thing Blackburn Rovers are after is gaining promotion to the English Football League Championship, where they will be one division away from the Premier League.

Tony Mowbray’s men are one point within the automatic elevation to the Championship and two points adrift of League One leaders Shrewsbury.

Tonight, Rovers are up against West Yorkshire side Bradford City and having played a game more than second-placed Wigan Athletic, I don’t see them squandering a chance to stay in the running for automatic promotion.

Failure to get automatic promotion would see them subjected to the play-offs, which would see the former Premier League champions battle it out with three other teams for a spot in the second tier.

Rovers know what is at stake and they will sweat blood to get three points in what has become a crucial match at Ewood Park tonight.
