Despite not managing to be consistent in their La Liga campaign, Villarreal will head out to tonight’s clash with Athletic Bilbao knowing very well that they hold a good record against them.

The Yellow Submarine have won 11 of their last 18 matches against Bilbao, who have only recorded three wins at Villarreal while the rest of the games ended in draws.

Villarreal went into the international week in high spirits after recording two wins against Las Palmas and Athletico Madrid, however their return from the break saw them draw points to relegation threatened Malaga losing 1-0.

Bilbao, meanwhile, have also struggled with consistency in their campaign and have failed to record a win in their last three matches. They have registered two losses and one draw.

Both sides might be struggling in their own respective way, however, this clash will certainly go Villarreal’s way looking at their dominance over Bilbao in their last couple of meetings.
