Offf the Beat ’n Track returns with more family fun next Saturday

Jacaranda FM and Tracker Off the Beat ’n Track, a mountain biking and music event, will be back at the Big Red Barn in Irene on April 21.

It’s a day of fun for families with courses ranging from 2km for children and 5km, 15km and 35km for the serious riders.

After that, riders and their families, and those who are there to enjoy the music, can picnic on the luscious lawns and relax to the tune of some of the country’s best live entertainm­ent acts – Goodluck, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Dr Victor.

Precaution­s will be taken to ensure small children are kept safe, there will be more than enough to eat and drink for everyone and vehicles will be well guarded.

Jacaranda FM general manager Kevin Fine said: “Off the Beat ’n Track has proved to be a massively successful event for consumers and our partner, Tracker.

“Family, fun, music and mountain biking in a spectacula­r venue is the essence of what Jacaranda FM is all about.”

Tracker CEO Wayne de Nobrega added. “Families don’t always spend as much time together as they would like and this event is the perfect opportunit­y to have fun and be entertaine­d in a safe and welcoming environmen­t.”

The entry fee for racers is R80 for the 2km course, R120 for 5km, R150 for 15km and R200 for the 35km races.

The admission fee for non-racers is R75 for adults and R50 for children under 12. Registrati­on opens at 6am. The starting times for the bike races are 7.30am for the 35km, 8am for the 2km children’s race, 8.10am for the 5km race and 8.30am for the 15km race.
