A TROVE OF ITEMS ON OFFER ON THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 21 AND 22 IN SELBY A 4.82 carat fancy yellow diamond among 250 glittering lots on auction.

Old Johannesbu­rg Warehouse Auctioneer­s will be enticing with yet another 1 300 lot auction on the weekend of April 21 and 22 at their Selby Warehouse. On Saturday April 21 the auction kicks off at 9am sharp as usual. Over 400 lots of antique furniture (including a large collection of Africana stinkwood and yellowwood furniture), fantastic ceramics and porcelain (Royal Doulton and Moorcroft), books, carpets, antique stuffed animals, beautiful silver and plated pieces, including a centre piece that belonged to Lord Somerset, Governor of the Cape.

This will keep collectors enticed before the excitement of the art session begins at 2pm – 100 lots of traditiona­l and contempora­ry art by the likes of Adriaan Boshoff, William Kentridge, Titta Fasciotti, Frans Claerhout, Piet van Heerden, Pieter van der Westhuizen, Carl Buchner, Clement Seneque, Amos Langdown, just to name a few, goes under the hammer.

On April 22, “Treasure Hunt Sunday” kicks off at 9am with a trove of items with over 500 lots to choose from!

Of special mention in this section – one of the largest collection­s of taxidermy is under the hammer. These items come from the estate of the late Swazi Werner from Zebra Inn fame; including Zebra, Giraffe, Lion, Porcupine, Badger, various antelope and more.

The stand-alone jewellery and watch session begins at 2pm with just over 250 glittering lots. Magnificen­t stones (tanzanites, sapphires, citrines and more) and diamonds (including a 4.82 carat fancy yellow) steal the show. It is nicely rounded off by a large collection of wristwatch­es – Bulova, Panerai, Rolex, Omega, Chopard, Raymond Weill, Tag Heuer, etc.
