President risks arrest at home
Former Malawi president Joyce Banda is to return home on Saturday after four years of self-imposed exile, with the possibility of being arrested on her arrival as an arrest warrant for her remains active.
Last year, police issued an arrest warrant for her in connection with the nation’s “Cashgate” corruption scandal, which involved large-scale looting of government coffers, Kenya’s Daily Nation reported yesterday. Police spokesperson James Kadadzera said the warrant remained valid. – ANA
