Visitors can take new cars for a spin on the 1.1km Kyalami handling track.

This year’s WesBank Festival of Motoring at Kyalami from August 31 to September 2 will be the biggest national industry supported South African auto show of the year.

Last year’s show attracted more than 57 000 visitors.

The 2018 version will again provide a plethora of interactive motoring entertainment with additional lifestyle, education and family friendly activities.

Visitors can expect new car launches, latest model displays, supercars on track and an engaging 4x4 area.

Self-drive activities in new car models will be available on each of the show days at the 1.1km Kyalami handling track.

Additional features this year will include double the number of original equipment manufacturer displays, improved and varied catering areas, a wine garden, a dedicated kids’ area and air displays.

National championship motorsport will feature for the first time, with the Sasol Global Touring Car Championship and Investchem Formula 1600 Championship to contest official championship rounds.

An interactive pit area with full public access will bring cars and drivers closer to race fans.

Modern GT race cars and a selection of historic race cars will be located behind the main pit building.

Historic motorsport content will include a tribute to cars of endurance racing.

The Pablo Clark Ferrari Challenge will have a dedicated pit and provide action on track with a selection of racing Ferraris.

Motorsport legends will again be honoured and maestro Sarel van der Merwe will act as the grand marshall of the event.

More than 50 modern road going supercars will be seen both in a dedicated pit area and on track during the three show days.

Classic cars should be a major draw card, with a display celebrating the evolution of the automobile to showcase cars with a unique South African story.

A new focus on future technology will show the latest trends and innovations in the industry. –
