Park Village Auctions is hosting its next commercial vehicle auction on Thursday. The sale will showcase a number of top quality trucks, trailers, yellow metal machinery and farming equipment.
Rigid trucks and truck tractors on the block include a fleet of Volvo FH440s and assets from manufacturers such as Freightliner, Hino, International, Isuzu, Iveco, MAN TGA and TGS models, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi Fuso, Nissan, Scania, Tata, and Toyota Dyna.
Under the banner of trailers are SA Truck Bodies; Hendred Fruehauf; Afrit; Motor Trail; Flat Deck Link Trailers; skeletal; curtain side trailers; side-tipper trailers and a high-volume drop side link trailer.
Earthmoving and farming equipment comprises a Mustang 642 Telescopic Handler, a Yuchai Yc15-8 Mini Excavator, Challenger 670b Harvestor, a Fiat Hitachi 4x2 backhoe loader, a Jumil 4 R0w Planter and a Potato Sorting Machine.
PVA’s LeRoy Augustyn is optimistic about the auction, citing improved sales figures for both heavy commercial vehicle and tractors reported by Naamsa (the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa) and Saama (the SA Agricultural Machinery Association). Augustyn said: “New vehicle sales figures for HCVs from May to June of this year increased by 22.9%, indicating an upsurge in consumer confidence.
“It’s not a stretch of the imagination to say that used vehicle sales will follow suit.
“Meanwhile, Saama’s year-todate tractor sales figures reflected an 11.9% increase compared to the first six months of last year and a 25% increase in combine harvester sales in June 2018 compared to June 2017.”
