Follow early bird Anton Marcus to score quickly

Anton Marcus appears in an ‘ordinary’ race meeting for the first time since returning from his broken wrist when saddling up at Scottsville on Sunday.

And it may well pay to follow him as he has some plum rides early in the day.

His mounts in the first three races were all odds-on in the early betting, but the one who really stands out is Dyno Man in Race 2.

This Garth Puller-trained Dynasty gelding found betting support on debut, and was challenging Autumn Rain late after that one had got first run.

Ormond Ferraris’ charge has since won fluently at MR 83 level back on the Highveld to solidly frank the form, and this really does look a five-star bet.

He also teams up with former top jockey Puller in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1400m.

Mashari has trialled well twice, and this Kahal four-year-old makes his debut in a rather moderate looking Maiden Plate.

If not racing greenly, he should also be hard to beat.

Likewise in Race 1 he teams up with Duncan Howells, who puts out Scat Daddy debutante Mela Stregata.

She showed plenty of toe in her trial here, and meets a rather limited looking six rivals.

At the risk of sounding boring, she also looks hard to oppose.

His only other race ride is also for Howells.

Queens Plain in Race 6 has Eachway claims, but his first three all have huge winning chances.

Interestingly he also partners unraced Jackson filly Diamondsandpearls for Shane Humby in the barrier trial.
