Snaith and Fourie hold the aces at Durbanville

TOUGH CALL: FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPPOSE Black Indy should be too strong in Race 3.

- Ken Nicol

While he has proven expensive to follow, Frank Lloyd Wright really does look impossible to oppose in Race 2, a Maiden Plate over 1400m at Durbanville tomorrow.

This Captain Al colt was runner up to undefeated potential champion One World in the Langerman last time, and while beaten over five lengths, that was still a highly commendable effort.

Indeed that was his second listed place after a fourth in the Somerset 1200 in May and in this far lesser company he should have little difficulty leaving the maiden ranks. Richard Fourie jumps aboard for the first time.

Main danger would appear to be Joey Ramsden’s lightly raced four-year-old gelding Consul Of War.

He made big improvement at his second start, and would have been a winner in another stride. However that was as long ago as September last year, and seems likely to need the outing.

The reminder of the nine-horse party will have to have made significant improvement to put up any real resistance.

Fellow Snaith resident Black Indy comes out of the same Langerman formline, and likewise should be too strong in Race 3, despite a wide draw.

This Marchfield gelding has been a hard-knocking maiden for a while now, and went close in his two efforts prior to that.

He does have a lot more opposition than Frank Lloyd Wright, and chief among them is More Magic.

Dynamite Jack returned to form last time and is another to be considered for the places.

Consider also Captain Gone Wild and Forty Days. Both are lightly raced, and have fair form.
