Bremner’s rebel to show the way again

- Viv Greybe

Princess Rebel, out of Yvette Bremner’s stable, proved too good for the opposition in her last two outings at Fairview over 1000m and this progressive filly should continue her winning ways over the course and distance today when stepping out with Ryan Munger aboard in Race 3 and main event, a FM 94 Handicap.

This four-time winning daughter of Rebel King has the right credentials as she has yet to finish out of the money in her six starts. There was much to like about her win last time when taking on 16 rivals in the Milkwood Stakes and powering away to a 3.25-length victory.

This four-year-old front-runner returns refreshed after a 70-day break and having a much better draw this time should complete the hat-trick.

However, she can expect a brave bid from Alan Greefftrained Boxley with the stable’s front-line jockey Greg Cheyne up.

Also in with claims is Greeff’s mare Stopthinkingofme (Teaque Gould) who has been threatening a fifth career win.

Another bottom-weight who could make her presence felt is Bremner-trained Astisia (Kendall Minnie) who will be racing over the course and distance for the third time.

However, the best bet of the day is Tara Laing-trained Honey’s Legacy (Chase Maujean) who contests Race 8, a Maiden Plate (F&M) over 2000m.

Also follow the combination of Greeff and Cheyne in Race 4 with Zevenastic; in Race 6 with Suave and Race 7 should see them come to light with top-weight Arabian Dynasty in a MR 80 Handicap over 1800m.
