Masalesa on move
Black Leopards are close to signing former Orlando Pirates midfielder Lehlogonolo Masalesa (below) who is said to have impressed new coach Dylan Kerr while on trial. If he is signed, Masalesa can start playing immediately as he is a free agent. “He did well and fits the profile of the central midfielder the coach wanted. He is likely to be signed because Leopards are unlikely now to get (Meshack) Maphangule on loan from Pirates since they have registered him for the Caf Champions League,” said the source. Leopards were said to be looking to land Maphangule back on loan from Pirates as he was not being used but he has since been playing, especially in the Champions League.
Chabangu to get a helping hand
Football fans from the East Rand are willing to help Lerato Chabangu (above) to get back on his feet and get a job after his picture went viral recently. According to a source, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows midfielder is living off hand-outs, but now people want to help him find a job. “A lot of people saw him on social media, but we always see him. What happened to him is sad because I don’t think he is the first or last person or the last to do that. Footballers are like that, because they have all this money to blow when they are playing, but once they stop playing it becomes a problem,” said the source. @jontymark @SbongsKaDonga @Toko900
